Matt Scott

MS, PLPC

Matt Scott joined Counseling Solutions of the Ozarks in 2022 and specifically works as an affiliated therapist with Gay Resources of the Ozarks (GRO). He currently works under the supervision of Kevin Pittenger.

Matt graduated from Missouri State University in 2022 with a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. While there, Matt collaborated with Dr. Cornelius-White to study the “Mental Health and Social Support Experiences of Transgender and Gender Nonconforming Adults in Rural America.” Their article is published in the Journal of Gay and Lesbian Mental Health.

Matt works with ALL adolescents and adults, but his primary focus is serving:

  • Gay and lesbian identified clients

  • Gender diverse clients (i.e. transgender, gender-fluid, genderqueer, gender-nonconforming, gender non-binary, etc)

  • Individuals who are exploring their sexual and/or gender identities

  • Clients who are exploring and/or deconstructing their religious identities

  • Clients who are wanting to reprocess their traumatic memories utilizing EMDR

Matt has specialized training in:

  • Somatic Integrative Processing I and II (provided by Beyond Healing Springfield, MO), 2022

  • EMDR Basics (provided by the EMDR Training Academy based out of Colorado Springs, CO), 2022

  • Gottman Method Couples Therapy Level 1 and Level 2 (provided by the founders of the Gay Couples Institute in San Francisco, CA), 2019/2020

  • Trauma-Informed Sandtray Therapy (provided by Dr. Leslie Anderson), 2020

Services & Fees

  • Individual counseling

    • $80* per 50-minute session

  • Couples counseling

    • $120* per 50-minute session

*If you have financial restrictions, please ask about my sliding scale (with session rates ranging from $40-$75). I am also happy to be a referral resource if you are needing less expensive alternatives. My desire is to ensure all clients who are seeking counseling are able to receive mental health support within their financial means.
